Dogs are a vessel of joy and a reprieve from the heaviness life can bring. They have all the words they could ever need in the expression of their eyes and their bodies. They make me laugh so much every single day.
Dogs are simple and pure beings of light, love, and hilarity. They teach me to listen in a different way, and for me to be listened to in another way. In caring for them, they inspire me to be a better human by taking better care of myself and others, to be in the moment, and to fully enjoy being alive on this incredible planet. I truly cannot imagine life without dogs.

DOGS PHOTOGRAPHED SAFELY ON LEASH
If you think there’s no way your dogs would stay in one place long enough, behave well enough, or they can never be off leash, then you have nothing to worry about! Here’s an example of before and after retouching to remove the person and leash from the photo. Just a little editing magic to keep your dogs safe and where we want them for optimal images.

In addition to leash removal, you can see here that I also remove distractions in the background, as well as lighten, darken, and sharpen areas to draw the most attention to the subjects, while still keeping a natural feel to the images. I can also fill in shaved areas of fur, and I always retouch your pup’s eye boogers and such similar things.

– You fill out the pre-session questionaire, pay deposit, and sign the contract.
Photo session
– We meet somewhere completely stunning.
– I let you know how to assist me to get the best possible results from your session.
– We have an amazing and fun adventure while I document the story of your pets and your connection.
Afterwards
– I curate a gallery of images that tell the most beautiful story of you and your pets.
– We meet online a couple weeks after our photo session to go over the images together, and I help you choose your photos, prints, and products.
– Your finished prints and/or album are delivered to you to enjoy.

after the photo session
we meet on zoom to view photos, and you choose a collectionA couple weeks after the photo session, you’ll meet with me online via zoom to go over all the curated images together and I’ll help you choose which package you would like. Each of the three collections contain digital images (a set of 15, 30, or all final images) and different amounts of credit that you will redeem for wall art, an album, and/or other prints. I have a fun method to help you choose your favorite images to help you decide which collection and products are perfect for you. Once we decide what you would like, then I will finish perfecting those images by removing leashes, blemishes, and distractions, adjusting color, cropping, etc. Within a week your digital images will be delivered to you through your online gallery, and your ordered products are hand delivered soon after whenever possible.

filled with your favorite imagesThe best way to experience the beautiful photos from your session is with a stunning lay-flat album, designed with your favorite images highlighted in larger panoramic spreads for a grand beginning and ending to the album. Images are placed accordingly to the best flow within the design to showcase your pet’s personality to the fullest.

All albums are custom designed to perfection and filled with all your favorite images from your session.
Decide between an 8×8 with 20 pages or a 10×10 with 30 pages, and there are also many customization options available for the covers and binding.

Your image is printed onto a 1/2 inch maple wood board, with a white backing to allow the colors to pop, and border to further draw attention to the image. The effect is a warm, natural looking print with a bit of a vintage feel.
bamboo prints
These unique and beautiful prints are made with sustainably harvested bamboo on a 3/4 inch panel. The crisp finish on the print and the layered bamboo edges create a stunning, modern look that would look incredible in any home.
canvas prints

These high resolution digital images are available a la carte or in a collection. These allow for making as many prints as you would like, creating your own albums, calendars, and customizing endless amount of fun photo projects and products.

These small prints are perfect to place on your desk at work or at home on your mantle. The prints are archival quality to last for all time, and are received loose and unframed, so you can make your own framing selections.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I BOOK?
You can book your session up to a year in advance, but most people book several weeks to a few months beforehand. Spring and fall are really popular times to schedule a session, so I would recommend getting your date on the calendar as soon as you decide you would like to do a session, so all the available dates aren’t already booked up! I do keep some wiggle room in my schedule for last minute sessions (and reschedules due to weather), so don’t be afraid to ask about that if you would like to get it scheduled as soon as possible.
WHAT IS THE PHOTO SESSION LIKE?
WHERE WILL WE HAVE OUR PHOTO SESSION?
There are so many options! I customize your session location based on the time of year you schedule your session in, where you live, and what your landscape preferences are. If you want to schedule your session right away, I’ll let you know the best possible locations to choose between for the most awesome results. If you are able to plan ahead a bit to harness the glories of the Pacific Northwest to your best advantage and you want to have your session amongst spring flowers, or in the peak of the stunning fall colors, I know all the best spots and times to schedule your session. Let me know what you are envisioning, and if you don’t have something specific in mind, I’ll give you a list of suggestions.
MY PET HAS SOME BEHAVIOR ISSUES. CAN WE STILL DO THIS?
Every animal is different and certainly sometimes our pets might have a behavior issue or two! No worries, I’ve seen it all and have methods for dealing with any challenges. After booking, I’ll send you a questionnaire to fill out regarding your pet’s general personality and any particular quirks they might be sporting. The questionnaire is also a chance to let me know how your pet tends to respond to new situations, what makes them perk up, and also what sets them off if they have aggression issues. Having all this info before the shoot is a great help so I know what to expect and how to approach each pet uniquely.
CAN'T YOU JUST SEND ME AN ONLINE GALLERY TO CHOOSE THE PHOTOS MYSELF?
It’s way more fun and easier to decide what you would like when we go over the images and products together. You have me there to decide what will work best for you and we will have an awesome time. Please familiarize yourself with the product options beforehand, so you already have an idea about what you would like to order and what wall art sizes would fit best in your home. This will prevent you from feeling overwhelmed, since you already have a loose plan.
I HAVE A LOT OF DOGS- CAN YOU PHOTOGRAPH THEM ALL OR IS THERE A LIMIT?
While it’s certainly a challenge to get photos of that many dogs looking great at the same time, I would love to give it my best shot! Most people come to me with 1-3 dogs, and in the cases where there are more, then it’s helpful to have some extra people come with you to help with handling. I have methods to make sure we get both great individual photos of all the dogs, and also with them all together. It’s no problem, we will just schedule the extra time we need and discuss how to make it go smoothly.
HOW DOES IT WORK TO INVOLVE BOTH MY CATS AND MY DOGS?
In most cases, we will start the session in your home and concentrate on getting photos with the cats, and then move on to an outdoor location to photograph the dogs. If you have adventure cats that regularly go outside with a leash and harness on, then we can do the whole session outside, and extra consideration to the session location will be made. You’ll also need to bring a cat carrier of some kind to be able to give them a place to rest and feel safe during their breaks in the session.
MY DOG CAN'T BE OFF LEASH, IS THAT OK?
You might be surprised to find out that most dogs I photograph are on leash for most of their session! Safety is the number one priority, and if we can’t 100% trust them to stay put when we need them to, then the leash stays on. Fear not though- I will use my editing skills to remove the leash in post production, and when you see the finished product, you will be amazed since it looks like it was never there!
HOW SHOULD WE PREPARE BEFORE THE SESSION?
If your dog has a ton of energy, it’s a great idea to take them for a walk beforehand to settle them a bit. Please make sure that they are clean and groomed the way you like best, and that they have a nice looking collar. If you would like to be in the photos, please make sure to prep yourself too beforehand. I would suggest wearing solid colors and not black, white, or red, if possible. I’ll include more details on how to best get ready to be photographed when I send you the session guide.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE PHOTO SESSION IS OVER?
I’ll get to work editing your images and will find a sneak peek to share online within a few days of your session. About 2 weeks after the shoot we will meet via zoom for your image reveal and ordering session where I will help you decide which collection, images, and products you would like to get. Photo prints, albums, canvas gallery wraps, bamboo prints, metal prints, and float blocks are all available. I deliver your chosen and perfected digital images within a week of the ordering session and deliver the prints and products in person whenever possible.
DO YOU SELL GIFT CERTIFICATES?
Gift certificates are the sweetest thing to do for someone! I do sell gift certificates starting at $750, but they are better received when they include a full collection. Please contact me for a full price list.
